Asthma Asthma is a chronic lung disease that causes breathlessness, wheezing, coughing, and chest tightness, and may be caused or made worse by exposure to traffic and outdoor air pollutants. It also makes people much more vulnerable to some forms of pollution.Colorado: CDPHE (2017)

Heart DiseaseHeart disease, specifically coronary heart disease, can partially or completely block blood flow in the large arteries of the heart, causing chest pain or a heart attack. Low Birthweight InfantsLow birthweight infants are infants born early or underweight, weighing 5 pounds and 8 ounces or less. They have a high risk of infant mortality or of having chronic health conditions later in life that may increase sensitivity to pollution.Colorado: CDPHE (2017)
